Happy New Year and welcome to a special episode of the podcast to kick off 2021. For this episode, I asked some of my favourite guests and photography business coaches to contribute and share their thoughts on how this year will shape for photographers running their businesses amid Covid and following a very tough 2020 for some.
Here's exactly what I asked each of them…
I'm putting together a podcast episode for a new years release of PhotoBizX and would love to feature you and your thoughts on how you see photography business shaping up for 2021.
To participate, I'll need a 5-10 minute (strictly no more than 10 minutes) audio recording.
If you're up for this…
Start the recording with an intro saying who you are, your business's name, and briefly what you do. Most listeners will already be familiar with you from the podcast.
Then share your thoughts and predictions for photography business in 2021.
Feel free to focus on any of the following… marketing and advertising trends, sales, branding, social media, declining or expanding markets, the need to shoot multiple genres or double down on a single genre, what photographers will need to do to succeed or a prediction that things will return to how they were pre-Covid.
Take this where you like.
Finish your recording with where the listener can go to learn more.
You'll see a list of contributing photography business coaches below, and where you can learn more about them and what they do.
Hope you enjoy and get something from this New Year episode. Let's get into it!

Hi Andrew. Just wanted to say, wow, and thank you for such an amazing start to 2021. This series of sessions has given me some great ideas to kickstart the new year. It also reminded me that I needed to write a review to say how your podcasts have actually changed my life.
Being in my late 50s, I am in the process of preparing for a change of pace and exit the corporate IT Sales environment and focus with my wife on our Pet Photography business. We started MIL Pet Photography in the UK in 2019, and have been absorbing as much content and training as possible. I had already started training with a number of your guests. I heard you on one of their podcasts in early 2020, and then started your free subscription podcasts initially. I found that I could go for a morning jog and listen to the podcast, and I truly started getting very fit as a direct result of going further back in the series – and of course, jogging more often each week.
I decided six months ago that it was time to pay for a full subscription as I was missing so much additional content. Not only am I jogging for longer, I have learned so much that my wife and I are starting to put into our business. We expect to focus exclusively on dog photography next year, so much more prepared and excited than we ever thought possible. ….and you and your podcasts changing my life, yup, I am now 40 pounds or 18 kilos lighter!!!
Starting with the free subscription is absolutely fine, but I strongly encourage everyone to sign up for the full subscription as what you get back is huge, and you truly feel part of an amazing worldwide community. Thank you Andrew, many thanks to your excellent guests, and I hope that in a couple of years I can potentially be a guest on your show inspiring others to change their career or at least have a new business idea for their “retirement” years. All the best, Chris Miller (MIL Pet Photography)
Hey Chris – great to read your fantastic comments, thank you. If you do leave a review, be sure to let me know the URL you’d like me to link to and the keyword phrase you’re looking to rank for, so I can use it as anchor text in a link to your site. It’s my way of saying thanks for taking the time to leave a review.
Congrats too on the big change you’ve been taking on! Dog photography is a big move from corporate IT – I imagine you’re loving the change and challenge.
Haha, good to hear the podcast interviews have positively affected your physical health and business. I’ll need to record some longer interviews to help you add some more running miles. 🙂 And wow, what an achievement with the weightloss – incredible. Congrats!
Nothing would make me happier than having you on the podcast as an interview guest, a soon as you’ve built a successful and sustainable income. You let me know when you feel the time is right and we’ll set it up.
Thanks again Chris and hope the lockdowns aren’t affecting you guys too severely.
Stay safe and well. Speak soon
Andrew
