Bernie Griffiths of www.berniegriffiths.com needs little or no introduction on the podcast after returning this week for the 4th time! In this episode, Bernie is answering your photography business questions.

Premium Member Questions for Andrew

Tony Bruce – Could you ask Bernie what tips he might have for wedding fairs please? In particular is there any methods that could be used to get a potential client to book you there and then as apposed to going home with a bunch of literature that might just get placed on a like with all the other photographers brochures.

Episode 236: Tony Bruce – Staying Busy In The Off Season When Starting Out With Your Photography Business

Tony Bruce Wedding Photographer Hertfordshire

Shaun A Craig – Other than FB ads, what are your top three marketing routes that provide the best ROI? Is there any advice around standing out in a crowded market?

Mark Zimmerman – I'm torn over specialization. I understand the marketing benefits but if I had to shoot the same thing over and over it would drive me crazy. I am willing to create separate websites and SM feeds. Would enjoy hearing your and Bernie's thoughts. Thx.

Daz Mack – I'd like to know what he thinks is the best way of creating awareness, even just in your local area, what's the best way of getting in front of peoples faces and having them remember you?

James White – I would really love to know more about the ‘art of following up'. How do you do it? When? How do you know if it is worthwhile, and if it is, how do you approach it without sounding pushy and aggressive? – in regard to email.

Bruce Devincentiis – Any tips on staying “top of mind” with connections?

David James – Is it possible to be profitable from a very small home studio (4 x 5m of shooting space)?

Vicky Joseph – I'd love to know the kind of sessions that his coaching clients are getting the most traction from at the moment – I remember in a couple of past interviews it was pets and their kids and newborns in the home.

Vicky Joseph – Also top tips for a photographer with no business premises (to shoot or sell).

Gold Coast Family Photographer

Victoria Nelson Gold Coast Family Photographer

Kylie Foley – For clients who like to purchase but they need payments spread out, what's the preferred layby system?

Laurie Brown – Best answer for clients who talk about hiring me again to ensure that they do? For example, I just had a client who bought a box of 7 images. Her husband is her business partner, so she wants him to come get his own set of 6-7 images as well. I have had this happen so many times where someone talks about hiring me again or gifting my services to someone but they never book. I think it's probably because I don't ask them to, I just wait for them to contact me. I am a soft seller (not pushy). What should I do to make sure that next session actually happens?

Fabrizio Cocchiano – In some of your most recent interviews, Linkedin is often cited as a valuable source of leads. Would love to hear Bernie's opinion.

iTunes Reviews and Shout-outs

Each week I check for any new iTunes reviews and it's always a buzz to receive these… for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they really are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!

Secondly, iTunes is the biggest search engine when it comes to podcasts and it's your reviews and ratings that help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners means more interviews and ultimately a better show.

If you have left a review in the past, thank you!

If you haven't and you'd like to, head to https://photobizx.com/itunes and you can leave some honest feedback and a rating which will help both me and the show and I'll be sure to thank you on the show and add a link to your website or blog if you let me know the URL of your website and your name.

Alternatively, if you've left a review for PhotoBizX and are looking for more backlinks to help your SEO, leave a review for the new Photography Xperiment Podcast  and email me your key words or keyword phrase and where you'd like me to link to.

Part 2 with Madi Liu of WanderSnap

I connected with Madi Liu in a round about way. I heard about a service called WanderSnap – who connect families and businesses with local photographers in more than 45 different cities.

Instead of speaking to the business founder Jen Loong from Canada, I thought it'd be constructive to speak to a photographer actually doing the shooting for the company. That's how I found Madi Liu from Hong Kong.

Her work is gorgeous and she has plenty of rave reviews with comments like:

My colleagues and I had a blast with Madi from WanderSnap! She was a professional through and through! From planning, to the actual shoot to post-production, she made us part of it all the way.

And this

We had such an amazing time on our photo tour around Tai Ping Shan Road with Madi. Madi came well prepared and she was so great with our little daughter. We loved how the pictures turned out and can't wait for our next Snapventure with Madi.

I'm looking forward to learning more about how all this works and if it's a viable option for other photographers.
