Kim Ortiz of www.kimortiz.com is a family, senior and pet photographer based in Austin, Texas – USA.

Kim is a PhotoBizX Premium member, and we were recently chatting on messenger about her pet calendar fundraiser. Her recently completed campaign achieved a series of results that piqued my interest and led to me asking to record this interview.

  • She generated over $6000 in sales.
  • Raised an additional $6500 for the local dog rescue group.
  • She gets her known in the local community and brought in new clients.

I then learnt that Kim has been implementing this strategy for the past nine years!

In this interview, Kim shares how to set up a profitable pet photography calendar project to raise money and support your local dog rescue organisations while creating an avenue to generate terrific wall art sales for your dog photography business.

Daily Vlog Challenge

Daily Vlog Challenge – starting June 7th!

Do you find when you get to have a face to face meeting with prospective clients, they usually book you?

That's how it is for me, and I'm pretty sure most of us.

Did you know you can shortcut this whole process and get in front of and connect with ideal clients before your face to face consultations?

You can… with video!

➡️  In your email replies
➡️  In your FB and Instagram ads
➡️  On your social media accounts
➡️  On your website

The cool thing is, you don't have to have a big, extroverted, loud personality to create the kinds of videos that connect with YOUR ideal clients.

You need to learn how to be your true self on video.

After all, you're already booking clients at your meetings being yourself.

Just do that on video, so they get to meet, see and hear the real you – before they take the step of reaching out to you.

It's the perfect way to get in front of your clients before you usually do and before other photographers in your local area are.

How do you get good at being yourself on video?

You learn how then you practice.

The GREAT news… I can help and support you, and a small group do precisely that in the three week Daily Vlog Challenge. It kicks off soon, and you can learn all about it in the video above.

This three-week Challenge (around 15 minutes per day) will take you from jittery nerves and multiple retakes to feeling 100% comfortable to hit record and go… anytime you have something to share.

iTunes Reviews and Shout-outs

Each week I check for any new iTunes reviews and it's always a buzz to receive these… for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they really are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!

Secondly, iTunes is the biggest search engine when it comes to podcasts and it's your reviews and ratings that help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners mean more interviews and ultimately a better show.

If you have left a review in the past, thank you! If you haven't and you'd like to, head to https://photobizx.com/itunes and you can leave some honest feedback and a rating which will help both me and the show and I'll be sure to thank you on the show and add a link to your website or blog if you let me know the URL of your website and your name.

Alternatively, if you've left a review for PhotoBizX and are looking for more backlinks to help your SEO, leave a review for the new Photography Xperiment Podcast and email me your keywords or keyword phrase and where you'd like me to link to.

Another great way to get a backlink to your site is to send a video testimonial. It doesn't need to be fancy and your phone will be perfect. Click record and tell me how PhotoBizX has made a difference to you and your photography business.

I've been doing the calendar for 9 years. For me it's not so much about generating business but giving back to the community, the animal rescue groups especially the small ones. – Kim Ortiz
