Julie Christie from Togs In Business joins us today and how lucky we are! She is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to producing actionable, money making content for photographers on her website, inside her Facebook Group, with video on YouTube and Facebook Live. In this interview, amongst a stack of great things, Julie shares how to make more money in your off season by teaching photography classes.
Julie is a successful photographer turned business coach, is based in Scotland and helps photographers grow and succeed with their businesses world wide. Everything she creates looks beautiful! She's obsessed with the business of photography. From books, blogs, podcasts and videos about anything and everything to do with creating and growing a successful business.
Before all the business stuff, she struggled to earn a living with her portrait photography business, then turned it into a boutique business where she was shooting less for way more money! I know we're in for a treat with this interview and what Julie will share to help you generate more income with your photography business.
Here’s some more of what we cover in the interview:

iTunes Reviews and Shout-outs
Each week I check for any new iTunes reviews and it's always a buzz to receive these… for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they really are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!
Secondly, iTunes is the biggest search engine when it comes to podcasts and it's your reviews and ratings that help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners means more interviews and ultimately a better show.
If you have left a review in the past, thank you!
If you haven't and you'd like to, head to https://photobizx.com/itunes and you can leave some honest feedback and a rating which will help both me and the show and I'll be sure to thank you on the show and add a link to your website or blog if you let me know the URL of your website and your name.
Alternatively, if you've left a review for PhotoBizX and are looking for more backlinks to help your SEO, leave a review for the new Photography Xperiment Podcast and email me your key words or keyword phrase and where you'd like me to link to.

New course from Headshot Photographer, Maurice Jager is LIVE!
Headshot Photographer, Maurice Jager was interviewed in episode 229 where he shared a very cool strategy on using LinkedIn to generate a heap of bookings.
Maurice also mentioned he was working on the finishing touches on an in depth course for photographers – it's now live!
Here's the update I received from Maurice:
So I’ve launched my course and it’s free to start. I’m building a free email course to help photographers and if they want to learn more, they can watch a premium video for a small price.
Here's a bit more on the course:
Are you a photographer with a website that’s pretty much dead in the water?
If you want to change that, then I want to invite you to tap into my knowledge which I built during a decade long career as (online) marketing guy coming up in the marketing world.
After over 10 years building my marketing career to become a Chief Marketing Officer, I decided to become a full-time photographer and I’ve built my successful photography business with the corporate marketing tricks on a small budget.
And it worked!
I got over 100K followers on my social media and an amazing business and a life I’m truly excited to be living.

This episode was amazing!! Julie, you are truly inspirational. (That Scottish accent doesn’t hurt either, lol) You made me want to try out your business model for my spring sessions next year! I signed up for the Facebook pixel course, and once I’ve got that nailed down, I’m going to start my planning for your marketing strategy. I’ve implemented many things I’ve heard on this podcast already, and I can’t wait to put the work into this one. Thank you!

Ah Dacia that made my day – thank you so much for listening and commenting! I’m so happy that you’re going to implement this and I’d love to hear about how you get on with it! 🙂
Your marketing strategy is GENIUS!! Excited to brainstorm a way I can implement it as well.
Hey Anita! That’s fantastic you’re going to give it a try. Thanks for listening and commenting! ?
Hi Julie, I really enjoyed listening to even the free version of this podcast. A lot of what you have said has been circling in my mind for a while and I like the idea of planning far out in advance. Preparing everything and then launching as opposed to just launching. I’ve signed up for your free facebook group and am hoping to gain some good feedback and discussion specific to our culturally unique situation of being western photographers living in Morocco.
Cheers, and again thanks for all the valuable advice!
