Jason Marino of www.facebook.com/imaginephotoaz came to my attention through a post in the Members Facebook Group. Kelly Barnes was asking about an interview with a photographer who has ADHD.

It turns out the photographer in question was featured on another podcast. That's when Eric Cathell and other members suggested I need to get this photographer on the podcast – they all agreed, he is fantastic!

They were talking about Jason Marino, who is part of a husband and wife team who runs Imagine Photography in Arizona, USA.

They run a multi-focused studio, photographing weddings, seniors and families in-studio and location.

I love this line on their about page…

From hanging out of the windows of moving cars to standing on an active airstrip, if it makes a great shot, we're going to risk it all.

Check out their Instagram feed, and you'll see a varied portfolio of beautifully (and creatively) lit portraits from couples to seniors, boudoir and maternity.

From the outside looking in, I get the feeling every day is different for this team, and Jason will be the perfect guest to learn more about working with ADHD and running a successful business simultaneously.

Here's some more of what we covered in the interview:

  • What is the best way to ask someone if they have ADHD
  • What it's like to have and live with ADHD
  • The challenges of running a photography business when you have ADHD
  • Diagnosing ADHD
  • The importance of prioritizing your mental health
  • A brief background of Jason's photography business
  • How to run a profitable volume-based sports photography business
  • Jason's order fulfilment process
  • How to price your products
  • How to keep the passion burning with photography
  • How to choose the right crew for your business success
  • Jason's process when contacting schools
  • Expectations about school donations with every sale
  • Dealing with contracts with schools
  • How Jason grew their photography business
  • Why making more money is not a priority for Jason now
  • The importance of having fun when running your photography business
  • If starting over, which part of the business would he develop fastest
  • All clients value artwork on their wall
