Penny Ryan of www.pennyryanphotography.com.au is based just outside of Melbourne in Australia and had a hugely successful Christmas Mini Session photography campaign last year. In this interview, she reveals exactly how she went about the entire process.
Penny and I exchanged a couple of emails which led to me asking her to record this interview.
She told me 2020 was going to be her year … she moved from Sydney in 2018, settled into life with two kids at new schools, bought a house, started building networks and contacts and working to grow her business.
Then Covid hit.
When things opened up for her work in December, she launched the Bazaar Xmas Sessions for both income and as a marketing tool.
Penny photographed two weekends with 40 spots available – all sold prior.
At the time of emailing, she was still waiting on the final sales to come through as the last of the galleries were just sent out – but she was thrilled.
Penny also told me she rebranded (or had a brand created) when she relocated, and it gave her confidence in putting herself out there.
She said the XMAS Bazaar minis were a perfect storm of brand, marketing messaging and collaboration with the Castlemaine Vintage Bazaar.
In this interview, learn precisely how Penny put together her successful mini-session campaign, from set design, networking, marketing and sales… so you can hit the ground running with your campaign for any upcoming event or celebration.

Firstly, it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they really are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!
Secondly, iTunes is the biggest search engine when it comes to podcasts and it's your reviews and ratings that help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners mean more interviews and ultimately a better show.
