I recently posted a video on the PhotoBizX Facebook page on utilising Facebook Ad retargeting for photographers – you can see it here.
In the video, I said…
If you're not utilising Facebook Ad retargeting to your photography website visitors, you absolutely should be!
Facebook retargeting is a super-easy way to stay in front of your website visitors and potential clients by staying top of mind and appearing regularly in their Facebook feeds.
Not sure what retargeting is?
It's where a visitor to your website is tagged by the Facebook Pixel (which must be installed on your website to create retargeting audiences) and once tagged are added to one of your Facebook Audiences.
Once that visitor is added to your audience, you can serve them one or multiple ads over a given time frame to keep them aware of you.
Not only that…
If you shoot multiple genres, you can create separate audiences for each webpage on your site.
For example, visitors interested in your pet photography will only see your pet photography-related ads. And those visitors who visit your wedding photography pages, only see follow up ads relating to weddings.
One of the best things about retargeting is they are simple to set up, cheap to run and you can let them go on autopilot once you have them set up.
During the video, I asked you to comment if you wanted to see a tutorial on how to set up retargeting audiences and ads yourself.
That's precisely what you'll learn from the video below…
Got a specific question about retargeting – just ask in the comments below.
And for ideas of what to include in your retargeting ads – there are a few in the original video.

Hi Andrew! How do you actually insert the retargeting video into the facebook ads manager?
Hi Lisa – from 10:52 onwards, I share how to set up your ad.
There are two ways to insert your ad – one is to create a post on your FB Page first (which will become an ad) and once that’s live and you’re happy with it, follow the ad set up instructions in the video above.
When you get to the actual ad set up area, choose “existing post” and your post should appear in the box there. Choose your post and you’ll be good to go.
You’ll also have the option to add a button if you like and “learn more” is a good option for most ads photographers are running.
Alternatively, you can upload your video inside the ads manager, in the ad area, and include copy, a headline and a link, all there in the ads area.
Let me know if you continue to have any issues.
