There's always so much to do. Always.

Where do you have your lists? In your phone, your computer, on scrap paper, in your head or all of the above?

With the lists, do you also have an order they have to be done?

Obviously there's the urgent things, the must do's and from there the list trickles down to the less important or to the jobs you're just plain avoiding.

What about the jobs you know you should do but they rely on getting something else done first. Do you have these?

Like writing a blog post.

I know I should write, I should be blogging.

But my website looks like shit. I hate it. Every-time I look at it I know it needs work.

The blogging will help my SEO, attract my perfect clients, be good for my soul, help me express myself, it'll be good for business.

But my shitty website.

It looks like crap.

I should fix that first.

Oh man, that's such a big job though. Where do I even start?

That's it!

I'm not writing or blogging till the website is sorted. And I haven't got time to work on that today so…

Stuff it… I'll do nothing.

Sound like you?

Here's something I've learnt. Nothing is ever really finished. Not when it comes to work, lists, dreams, ideas, plans and life. There will always be more you want to do.

Here's something else I've learnt.

Doing something every day, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction. And it's rewarding.

No matter how small!

If I accomplish one thing that takes me in the direction I want to be going every day, I sleep well. Every night.

Want to know who inspired this post, who got me off my arse to write today… Tom did.

Tom Nicholls who wrote in the members Facebook group this morning…

Here's my first post for the Spencer Lum Blog Challenge. I've resisted the temptation to fix all the serious flaws in my website configuration and design and just gone for it. Thanks to everyone here for giving me the push to start.

I freakin' love what Tom has done by just starting!

I know he and I will be sleeping well tonight.

Not together.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Sorry, distracted by Seinfeld.

We've both accomplished something today.

We've taken a step in our right direction.

Have you?
