When I approached Christine for this interview and to share her views on combining motherhood and a successful portrait photography business, her initial reply was “Yes I’d be interested! Are you sure you want to hear about my struggles to balance work & life?”
I replied, “That's EXACTLY what we'd love to hear about!”

iTunes Reviews and Shout-outs
Each week I check for any new iTunes reviews and it's always a buzz to receive these… for a couple reasons. Firstly it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they really are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!
Secondly, iTunes is the biggest search engine when it comes to podcasts and it's your reviews and ratings that help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners means more interviews and ultimately a better show.
If you have left a review in the past, thank you!
If you haven't and you'd like to, head to https://photobizx.com/itunes and you can leave some honest feedback and a rating which will help both me and the show and I'll be sure to thank you on the show and add a link to your site like I have with Amber, Marcy and Chris below.
Worth Your Time & Money!
In iTunes by Amber Sehrt of One Big Happy Photo in the USA.
(Note: check out Amber's about page… very cool!)
When this podcast first came on my radar, I thought “I'll try it out and enjoy the free content.” Within just a few episodes I started getting jealous of the extra content that the premium members were getting. So I figured I try it out (which you can do now for only $1) and I am so glad I did.
I've been a premium member now for almost a year and it is just part of my education budget.
Andrew asks fabulous questions and makes sure to keep things balanced for those of us who don't shoot weddings. He also makes sure that us newbies have plenty to chew on and implement to get us rolling faster and straighter. But this is not just a podcast for newbies. There is tons of great content and ideas for those who have been in the business for years.
I look forward to every episode and even re-listen to old ones as my business evolves and I grow.
Thanks for everything Andrew! Can't wait to see what is coming up next.

Full of Great Info about the Business of Photography
In iTunes by Marcy Browe of Marcy Browe Photography in San Diego USA.
Yes! This podcast has been on constant rotation for me. It’s great to hear what other photographers are doing to build their business. Regardless of what type of photographer you are, if you’re serious about your business this is a must-listen podcast.
Thanks for the great work Andrew!!
It's like your in my head
In iTunes by Chris Adams of CA Photography in the UK.
Hi Andrew, my name's Chris Adams from South Wales in the UK my website is www.ca-photography.co.uk.
I have been listening to your podcasts for a year now and just wanted to congratulate you on the fantastic job your doing, I love your interview style and you always seem to ask the questions that I am thinking… It's like your in my head!!!
I just listened to episode 111 with Ian Weldon and it really resonated with me. I've never liked shooting weddings for exactly the same reasons as Ian, and therefore I have only shot a few.
After listening to your podcast it made me realise that I don't have to shoot weddings the traditional way and I can choose the right customers for me so just wanted to say thank you and keep up the good work!!
In the Last Episode… let's rock this new HASHTAG… #tog_ether
In the last episode with Sandra Aberg, we talked about supporting one another as photographers and no matter which rung you're currently sitting, on the ladder of success, everyone loves to hear nice things about their work.
As a sign of support, Sandra and I asked for ideas for a hashtag we could use to show our support for the photographers we like and admire or simply for photography that is appealing to us. After messing around with a few ideas, long time listener and mate of mine, Paul Pennell, threw out the idea of #tog_ether. It's perfect!
If you're following photographers on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or any social media platform and you like what someones doing, no matter who they are, use the hashtag #tog_ether along with any comments or on it's own to show your support. Let them know you're loving what they're creating with this simple gesture.
You may also be iterated to read a follow up blog post from Sandra following her interview. It seems these interviews aren't only helpful for you… Sandra seemed to take as much away as any listener. Click here to read her post: http://www.sandraaberg.com/interview-today-for-photobizxposed/

Andrew
hey Christine, thanks for sharing, great interview. I was wondering how much you are selling your digital files for? Personal question I know :o)
Take care,
Tim
I love the Daisy Grip idea, I wish I had one of those this weekend with an 8 person shoot with 1 and 2 year old.
Isn’t the Daisy Grip great!
Thanks again for your iTunes review Marcy (so sorry about my pronunciation) it really is appreciated.
This is definitely one of my favorite podcasts to date. I got so much value, reassurance and hope from Christine. I am going to follow her and might even reach out to learn more from her soon. Thanks again.
Fantastic to read your comments Amber – how good (and real) is Christine!
Oh my gosh…thanks so much Amber, Marcy and Tim! I was a bit nervous, but Andrew is so relaxed and funny that he made the interview fun! Thank you so much again, Andrew ~ it was a pleasure speaking with you and I hope the interview is helpful to others! #tog_ther
Tim, my digital collections range between $1000-$1500. HTH!
Thanks again Christine – so good to know you thought it was fun too! Love that you’re rocking the hashtag #tog_ether 🙂
Hi Andrew,
I just wanted to say a big Hi! And thank you for the Podcast. Even though I am not a premium member ( something I should do when I get the time) the information shared is invaluable for even the free members. Each week I listen to the podcast while I’m driving for work and felt a bit lost the last couple of weeks with out it. I just listened to Christine’s interview and it hit home a few points for me. Setting your prices to a target market and attracting the clients that appreciate photography not gradually increasing your prices from a very low price point and getting all the bargain hunters. Balancing work and life is a huge thing for me at the moment.
Thanks heaps again
Adam
Hey Adam – great to hear from you and so good to know you’re getting such good value from the free episodes, that exactly what I hope for… value for every listener.
This episode with Christine is one of the best for any portrait photographer, she is doing so many things so well plus she didn’t hold back and shared so much!
That work life balance is always tough – I don’t think it’s limited to photographers either. Maybe just how things are today.
Thanks for adding your comments Adam, don’t be a stranger!
