  • Thanks for another great interview Andrew and for sharing so much Jeffrey. I have a question about the voucher system – could you explain sending the vouchers to the school and how you would explain why you’re sending them? It doesn’t make sense to me given that you’re donating one or two vouchers at the silent auction later anyway. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Deb,
    I hope I understand your question clearly. By vouchers are you referring to a school promotion where I am offering sessions prior to the auction? You’ll have to forgive me. i don’t always remember exactly what topics are covered in every interview and I rarely listen to my own interviews:)

    If so, the families are purchasing a session a month or two prior to the event. The initial payment is a donation to the school. It doesn’t in any way interview with the donation I’m offering the auction. First of all, only one person is going to win the auction item. And they have no control over the outcome. By purchasing the voucher in advance they are guaranteed a session. The fact the initial payment goes to a school they clearly care about is what motivates them.

    Your interview was perfect timing for me – thank you for such fabulous content. I’m a family photographer who’s been in business for 6 years and in the process of refreshing my brand and creating a new vertical website that will look great on phones (something my current website doesn’t do). I’ve been trying to think of ways to find more clients like I have without compromising on the quality of client that I have. My local primary school is due to celebrate its 100th year and a generous donation of 20 (paid) sessions or so will be a great gift to the school and also a wonderful way of meeting new families. Thank you for the podcast – my favourite so far and I will definitely listen to it again.

      With your website, as long as it’s “responsive” it’ll look great on mobiles and tablets. You’re dead right to be focusing on it though – mobile web use has gone through the roof. If you’re site does;t look good on a mobile, you’re losing work.
