iTunes Reviews and Shout-outs
Each week I check for any new iTunes reviews and it's always a buzz to receive these… for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they really are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!
Secondly, iTunes is the biggest search engine when it comes to podcasts and it's your reviews and ratings that help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners means more interviews and ultimately a better show.
If you have left a review in the past, thank you!
If you haven't and you'd like to, head to https://photobizx.com/itunes and you can leave some honest feedback and a rating which will help both me and the show and I'll be sure to thank you on the show and add a link to your website or blog if you let me know the URL of your website and your name.
Alternatively, if you've left a review for PhotoBizX and are looking for more backlinks to help your SEO, leave a review for the new Photography Xperiment Podcast and email me your key words or keyword phrase and where you'd like me to link to.

A must have podcast for every photographer

Hey Andrew, I discovered your podcast over a private FB group of fellow photographers. I'm happy I found you because it's the perfect mixture of your extremely sympathetic way of chatting with all those pros and the tons of high quality and absolutely useful information that come out.
Keep up the brilliant work and thanks for spending so much time and effort on the podcast.
The other day you spoke about legacy. You know what ? I guess this podcast can some day be your legacy to the world.
If you ever happen to stay in Berlin, I would love to invite you for coffee.

Are you implementing what you hear?
I repeatedly make a fuss in each episode about implementing what you hear in the interviews each week. If you're not implementing, the podcast is purely entertainment – which is fine if that's what you're after.
My goal when starting the podcast was to deliver a photography business workshop to you every week, with the kind of info you could turn into real dollars after utilising what you hear.
That's why I get excited when I receive messages like the one below from Noosa wedding photographer Melanie McNiven
Hi Andrew,
Ive just signed up for another 6 months. I’ve hit a little non-photography hurdle in the road, otherwise I would have selected the 12 month option for sure. Hopefully after this 6 months, I can change to 12 months next time.
Just so you know, the biggest success from the last 6 months for me, has been connecting with another photographer through the mastermind group idea.
It’s just the two of us, so we are not really a group but more of a duo. We meet over Skype or Facebook video message every week. She lives in the USA and I’m in Noosa Australia, but we make the timezones work.
Her location and market is very similar to mine, in that it’s coastal and touristy.
The meetings haven’t just given me a platform to share ideas with someone, but I have made an awesome friend. I look forward to our meetings every week. Hopefully she feels the same.
We have shared so many resources with each other. It’s just been fantastic.
Regards, Mel McNiven
The Family Photographer Podcast with Jenny Stein
If you haven't had enough of me and enjoy the pre interview sharing I do in each episode… I was recently interviewed by the oh-so-lovely, Jenny Stein from the Family Photographer Podcast.
It was strange but fun being on the other side of the questions and I can promise, this interview is WAY MORE PROFESSIONAL than the Christmas interview where my buddy Paul Pennell asked the questions.

Andrew
This was an amazing interview with Nate, but I’ll definitely need to listen again and even a third time while looking at the software, landing pages and everything he mentions open in front of me! I’d never thought of using a landing page and being so focused on capturing email addresses rather than leaving the visitor to be wowed by my website! I guess it’s very simple, make it as seamless, distraction-free and friction-free as possible. And giving engagement shoots & even prints away… painful in theory but the rewards are pretty huge as that photographer will be in first place for the wedding! You really have to take them by the hand and lead them to where you want them to go.
And Andrew, thank you so much for addressing my email on the show. I wrote it just to vent, but now I feel inspired to try different things… and also doing the same things better, smarter and not to give up. It’s easy to say “I’m doing everything I can, and nothing’s working’. The truth is it’s early days and experience takes time. I’m just impatient, that is a flaw of mine. I’m looking forward to chatting one-on-one if and when you can fit it in and really appreciate your time.
Hey Zoe – love that you enjoyed this episode… Nate is an amazing guy, educator and someone who really cares about photographers and their success. I know what you mean about hvaing to listen again, so many good ideas in this one!
The landing page idea is a ripper and makes total sense after hearing Nate. And you’re dead right about taking a potential client by the hand and leading them through what you can offer and do for them.
My pleasure with the pre interview motivation. 🙂 Looking forward to chatting more.
Hey Andrew, thanks for the shoutout. You pronounced my name pretty good. Weißbier sounds great to me. Looking forward to it.
My pleasure and thanks again for your lovely review!
See you in Berlin sometime for that Weißbier, unless you get to Australia first – then it’s my shout.
I just listened to the podcast and again, great stuff. I agree with Nate on lots of points, particularly the point about about niche photography. As you know, I specialise in fitness and physique photography but that doesn’t mean I can’t do other photography work.
It also means I can focus my energy on pursuing one avenue and not go after every gig. On top of that, people in the fitness world come to me knowing I specialise, so can trust me not to cock it up. So far, not a single complaint from anyone! 🙂
On to the next podcast!
Nate is always a great guest! Love that you enjoyed this one Rahim and I’m with you, specialising doesn’t mean you can’t shoot other genres but having dedicated landing pages for a specific genre will show those clients you can do exactly what they’re looking for – you can speak to them directly.
